Buying the molds of the Kendall 32 sailboat in 1971, Lynne and Snyder Vicks created Westsail Corporation was born in Costa Mesa, California. Immediately building a renamed Westsail 32 vessel, Westsail Corporation would add a larger 42-foot and small 28-foot to their product line-up as the company continued through the 1970s. Fiberglass vessels suited for recreational cruising on the water, Westsail Corporation produced a little over 1,100 vessels before closing its doors officially in the 1988.
