Opening their business in 1947, Alcort Sailboats was originally formed to produce iceboats. Alcort quickly drove into the production of small wooden and fiberglass sailing vessels. The company passed through several hands as the popular sailing boats continued to be produced until 1989. Alcort Sailboats was be absorbed by Pearson Yacht.
