Focused on the construction of the 12-foot Butterfly sailboat initially, Barnett Boat Company Incorporated were faced with a surging demand for the small vessel design through the 1970s. A smaller Max and the larger Barnett 13.2 models were added to the boat builder’s line-up in the later production years. Barnett Boat Company was sold Hedlund Marine in the late 1980s when the owner elected to retire from the business.
