A South Carolina sailboat builder, Jack Helms created the enterprise in the 1970s producing a 24-foot vessel. Expanding the line-up starting in 1978, Helms Co fiberglass sailboats were built with pride. With up to 800 vessels created up until the businesses closure in 1987, the Helms Co founder personally delivered each sailing yacht.
