An entry-level division of General Motors, Geo was formed in 1989 to bring small, fuel-efficient vehicles to the US market. Most of the Geo models were built in collaboration with Japanese manufacturers such as Isuzu, Suzuki, and Toyota. Consumer interest in small cars began to fade and Geo was discontinued in 1998 -- see all the 1997 Geo models. Some of their models continued on for a few more years afterwards wearing Chevrolet badges.
