The 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a two-door, two-passenger luxury sports convertible and it is offered in two trims; the SL500 and the SL600, both of which are very well-equipped. The SL500 utilizes a 315 hp 5.0L V8 engine while the SL600 harnesses the power of a 389 hp 6.0L V12 engine. Both trims use a five-speed automatic transmission which sends the power to the rear wheels.
