An early member of the rapidly-growing luxury sport utility vehicle segment, Land Rover's 1999 model lineup introduces a crucial, new product. The mid-sized Discovery has been redesigned for 1999 as an off-road capable vehicle with more relatable comforts for more urbanized drivers. Called referred to as the Discovery Series II, the new 1999 product is longer in overall length for improved interior space. The previous generation Discovery remains available for the 1999 model year as an entry-level offering. The 1999 Land Rover Discovery SD is equipped with a 4.0-liter V-8 engine and includes amenities such as dual-zone climate controls. An upgraded four-wheel traction control has been added to the Land Rover's 1999 Range Rover.
