The 1999 Saturn SL is a compact, five-passenger sedan that is affordable and fuel-efficient across all three trims which include the base SL, SL1, and the SL2. The SL is powered by a 100 hp 1.9L four-cylinder engine, achieves 40 mpg on the highway, and to save cost and weight does not have power steering. The SL1 has the same engine as the SL, but offers more standard amenities including power steering. The SL2 is powered by a 1.9L four-cylinder which produces 124 hp and is rated at 38 mpg on the highway.
