The 2000 Porsche Boxster is a compact, two-passenger convertible sports car. New for 2000 is the inclusion of a higher-powered S version. The base model has a 2.7L horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine which produces 217 hp. The new S version uses a 3.2L six-cylinder which ups output to 250 hp. The RWD Boxster is all sports car but is still rated at 28 mpg highway for the base version and 26 mpg highway for the S variant.
