The 2000 Volvo S40 is an all-new premium compact sedan that seats five passengers. Volvo cars are known for their great standard safety features and this new model is no exception. The only engine offered is in the form of a turbocharged 1.9L inline four-cylinder which produces 160 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, and it is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. This engine is linked to a four-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel disc brakes and ABS comes standard.
