The Subaru Forester enters 2003 as a recipient of a sophisticated redesign. Gaining some stylistic maturity, the new 2003 Forester incorporates modern weight-saving construction elements such as a hydro-formed front sub-frame and an aluminum hood. Inside, a wealth of standard features on the new Subaru Forester includes side airbags for added front occupant safety. Subaru also presents a radical shift in the idea of a modern utility vehicle with the Baja. Borrowing heavily from the Outback, the 2003 Subaru Baja features a four-door cabin with a pickup truck-like bed box. For 2003, the suspension system of the Legacy line-up has undergone a minor retuning. OnStar technology has also been added standard on the more premium versions of the 2003 Subaru Legacy range. The Subaru Impreza receives a more impressive array of standard features such as CD player stereo system and power windows.
A sporty compact sedan, the 2003 Subaru Impreza Sedan seats five passengers and is offered in a range of engines from the economical 165 hp 2.5L four-cylinder to the more performance oriented 227 hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder.
