A carry-over for 2007, the Fusion is a mid-size four-door five-passenger sedan that is offered in S, SE or SEL trim-levels. The Fusion is available with FWD or, new for 2007, AWD. The base engine is an inline four-cylinder with 16 valves that produces 160HP, and is standard with a five-speed manual transmission or the optional six-speed automatic. The Ford Fusion adds an all-wheel-drive configuration for 2007, available in both SE and SEL trims with the V6 engine. Front seat side-impact and curtain air bags became standard as did an auxiliary audio input jack. Optional equipment was expanded to include Sirius satellite radio and a DVD-based navigation. Base prices rose about $300 overall from the 2006 model year.
