An off-road focused, aggressively styled Nissan Titan PRO-4X model is new for 2008 and brings a body-colored grille and bumpers, alloy off-road wheels, and a number of cosmetic differences, plus Rancho shocks, a lower final-drive ratio, extra skid plates, and an electronic locking rear differential. Otherwise, the Titan carries over with only a few small changes for 2008. A Bluetooth hands-free system is now included in the top LE model, XM satellite radio is available, a heated leather bench seat is also newly available, and the DVD entertainment system now has a larger eight-inch screen. While most competing full-size pickups offer a wide range of powertrains, the 2008 Nissan Titan comes only with a large, 5.6L V8. As such, for people who want or need V8 power but with a limited budget, the more affordable XE and SE models are especially attractive for their value. Otherwise, the Titan is impressive for its tow ratings up to 9,500 pounds, which Nissan says is comparable to heavy-duty 3/4-ton trucks. The Utili-trak, factory spray-on bedliner, and rear bed storage compartment are also standout features, along with the available Electronic Locking Rear Differential. Long-wheelbase models feature a 37-gallon fuel tank, said to be the largest in its class.
