2009 Cadillac DTS Values

A popular full-size luxury sedan, the Cadillac DTS remains largely unchanged for the 2009 model year, adding only 17-inch chrome wheels and revised interior controls. Equipped with front-wheel drive and powered by either a 275-hp V8 with 295 lb-ft of torque or a 292-hp V8 with 288 lb-ft of torque, the CTS comes with a four-speed Hydro-Matic automatic transmission, while the Performance trim features recalibrated transmission shift programming for quicker responses. Fully equipped with numerous luxury features, the CTS can seat five or six passengers. Cadillac DTS standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, leather, OnStar, bi-xenon headlamps and CD/MP3 audio with satellite radio, plus many more luxury items, depending on the trim selected. A sunroof and DVD navigation system are available as options. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the base is 15 mpg city/23 mpg hwy, while the more powerful V8 loses one mpg on the highway.

For 2009, the Cadillac DTS saw only minor changes, largely exterior colors and interior features. Inside, the DTS boasts Generation 8.0 OnStar with Bluetooth handsfree connectivity, XM satellite NavTraffic, express-close sunroof and a repositioning of the seat heater/cooler switches. Also, the headrests have been redesigned and enlarged for improved safety, while the exterior mirrors feature brighter LED turn signal and Side Blind Zone indicators. Cadillac also introduced Ferritic Nitro-Carburizing (FNC) to the brake rotors, which keeps them from rusting. Finally, Radiant Silver and Gray Flannel replace Mystic Gray, Light Platinum, Sunset Blue, and Titanium ChromaFlair in the palette.

For traditional buyers of large luxury cars, the 2008 Cadillac DTS remains one of only a handful of choices. The front-wheel-drive DTS compares favorably against its rivals, with class-leading power and a larger, impressive interior. The DTS also offers plenty of luxury features and comfort for its $45,400 base price.
