2009 Ford Super Duty F-450 DRW Values
The 2009 Ford Super Duty F-450 is a large four-door pickup truck built to haul serious loads. The only available engine for the F-450 is the 6.4L twin-turbodiesel V8 which puts out 350 hp and an awe-inspiring 650 lb-ft of torque at only 2,000 RPM. This powerplant is connected to the standard six-speed manual transmission. The rear end of the F-450 comes standard with a 4.3-ratio limited-slip axle which allows it to tow 24,500 pounds when equipped with a fifth-wheel hitch. Payload capacity is rated at 6,120 pounds for all trims. Ford's TorqShift five-speed automatic transmission is an option with the Super Duty F-450. Ford Super Duty F-450 standard features include 19.5-inch polished alloy wheels, a heavy-duty trailer hitch, a trailer brake controller, air-conditioning and an AM/FM/CD player. The Super Duty F-450 includes such safety features as four-wheel disc ABS, electronic brake force distribution, dual-stage front airbags and a post-collision safety system.Read more Read less
Following a redesign in 2008, the F450 and F550 Super Duty trucks see few changes for 2009. The F450 is now offered in Harley-Davidson and Cabela's FX4 special editions, and Ford's "Work Solutions" options are now available, which include an in-dash computer with internet access and a large lockable compartment mounted between the bed and the cab. The Tough Bed heavy-duty bedliner is available in every trim level, and Ford's Sync and Sirius Travel Link are optional on the F450.
Extreme towing and hauling capabilities, durability, a host of high-tech options and trim levels.
The heavy-duty F450 and F550 provide the ultimate in utility, with properly equipped versions rated to tow a maximum of 24,400 pounds--significantly more than their nearest competitors. Both trucks also offer a number of creature comforts, and both maintain a relatively tight turning circle, making them easy to live with both on and off the job. Several trim configurations are available in both 2- and 4-wheel drive, making the F450 and F550 well suited to a variety of heavy-duty tasks.
