Essentially unchanged this year, the 4-door Lincoln MKZ midsize luxury sedan gets standard electronic stability control for 2009. The 2009 Lincoln MKZ is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that pumps out 263 hp and 249 lb-ft of torque with the mandatory six-speed automatic is transmission. While front-wheel drive is standard, the optional electronically controlled AWD system is capable of transferring power as needed from wheel to wheel. EPA fuel economy estimates rate the front-wheel-drive MKZ at 17 mpg city, 24 mpg hwy and 19 mpg combined; however, the AWD trim comes in a bit lower at 16 mpg city and 23 mpg hwy. Lincoln MKZ standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, electronic stability control, front-seat side-impact airbags and full-length head curtain airbags that have a "roll fold" to press the airbag against the glass for additional protection. The MKZ is known as a classic family sedan, providing a smooth, stylish ride for up to five passengers and a long list of luxury features.Read more Read less

Smooth ride; interior comfort and luxury; seating and cargo space; premium audio and navigation systems.
The 2009 Lincoln MKZ is closely related mechanically to the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but it offers more interior comfort, luxury, and available high-tech features, without sacrificing the fun-to-drive qualities. The interior stands out for being spacious for people and cargo compared to other sedans; the Lincoln MKZ claims to have best-in-class interior space and trunk space. The Lincoln MKZ's premium sound system has been top-rated by both CNET and PC Magazine, while the available touch-screen navigation has been ranked the highest in customer satisfaction by J.D. Power and Associates.
