Virtually unchanged from last year, the 2009 Toyota Sienna is powered by a 266-hp, 3.5L V6 engine joined to a five-speed automatic transmission. EPA fuel economy estimates are a healthy17 mpg city/23 mpg hwy and 19 mpg combined for front-wheel-drive trims, while the AWD trims rate a little lower at 16 mpg city/21 mpg hwy and 18 mpg combined. Toyota Sienna standard safety features include stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. The Limited trim is equipped with front- and rear-park assist, but those are options on the XLE. A rearview camera comes with the navigation system. A new options package for the Sienna LE offers Bluetooth and a rear-seat entertainment system, while the XLE's optional sonar parking sensors now cover both front and rear. The XLE and Limited trims seat seven, while the Sienna CE and LE trims can accommodate eight passengers. The Sienna is a smooth and powerful minivan, riding right up there at the top of the class with other luxury vehicles.
