All new for 2011 the Nissan Leaf is a 5-door electric hatchback vehicle powered by an 80 kW AC synchronous motor and 24 kWh lithium-ion battery. The Leaf boasts zero tailpipe emissions and a 100 mile/per charge range. The Leaf has a top speed of 90 mph and has 5-passenger seating. Features include LED headlights, UV-reducing solar glass, rear spoiler, 16-inch wheels, partially recycled cloth seats, push-button start, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, navigation, 6-speaker sound system, and automatic temperature control. Safety comes in the form of Nissan advanced airbag system, vehicle dynamic control, traction control system, and tire pressure monitoring system. The lithium-ion battery will carry an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty.
