Within Work Truck, SL, SLE and SLT trim levels, the 2012 Sierra 1500 pickup comes standard with six airbags, air conditioning, dual 12-volt power outlets as well as StabiliTrak featuring Proactive Roll Avoidance. XM satellite radio, rearview camera, Universal Home Remote and a selection of 20-inch aluminum wheels are available with the 2012 GMC full-sized pickup truck. For premium appointments, the 2012 Sierra 1500 Denali comes standard with a chrome grille, 12-way power front leather bucket seats, heated mirrors, Rear Parking Assist and a Bose sound system. Powerplants choices for the 2012 Sierra starts 4.3 liter V-6 before upgrading to one of three Vortec V-8 engines. FlexFuel capable of running E85 blended gasoline, a 4.8 liter, 5.3 liter and a 403 horsepower 6.2 liter engine are offered with fuel economy between 15 to 17 miles per gallon. In crew cab version, there is also a 2012 GMC Sierra XFE model which is fitted with special final gearing to allow an additional highway mile to be achieved with the 5.3 liter V-8 engine. These engines are channeled through either a 4-speed or a 6-speed automatic transmission with the option of four-wheel drive.
