A new six-speed automatic transmission is now available on select models of the 2012 Ram 1500 as well as the Ram HD (2500 and 3500). Electronic stability control is now standard on all single rear wheel versions of the Ram HD. The first new product for the Ram brand is since its inception in 2010, the Cargo Van provides commercial enterprises with a small, dependable vehicle. Based on the Dodge Grand Caravan, the 2012 model year Ram Cargo Van is propelled by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and can handle up to 1,800 pounds of cargo. With the arrival of the 2012 Ram Cargo Van, the truck brand loses a mid-sized truck. The Ram Dakota has been discontinued for the 2012 model year.
