A larger lithium-ion battery pack enables extended electric-only driving in comparison to the standard Prius. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT) paired with FWD yields an EPA estimated range of 50 mpg (when in hybrid mode) to 95 MPGe (mile per gallons equivalents in electric-only mode).
