The Countryman gets only a few minor changes for the 2014 model year. Heated mirrors and washer jets are newly standard this year, and there's a new single premium package that adds the dual-pane panoramic sunroof, rain sensors, automatic headlights, and automatic climate control. Separately, a new City Pack brings an alarm system, power folding mirrors, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, rear park distance control and comfort access. Additionally, the Countryman gets double cup holders in place of the center rail between the rear seat areas and the rear doors now get a padded armrest.
Stylish look inside and out; crisp handling; easy parking and maneuverability; available all-wheel drive; perky turbocharged S and high performance JCW models
The Countryman incorporates the peppy and perky driving experience--and easy parking and maneuverability--of the MINI Cooper lineup, yet with a more spacious interior and a wider range of capabilities that might be of use to those who head to the outdoors on the weekends. Fuel economy is quite good for base models, at 27 mpg city, 35 highway. But the stronger, quicker S Countryman and JCW models are the way to go for most shoppers who want to make the most of this car's excellent steering and suspension tuning--which makes a little bit of sacrifice in ride in the name of crisp handling.
