After receiving several improvements last year, the all-electric 2014 Nissan Leaf is largely unchanged. Still defined by the S, SV and SL trim level, the five-passenger 2014 Nissan Leaf hatchback is offered in six exterior colors. Introduced in 2013 as an entry-level geared product for the electric vehicle model, 2014 Nissan Leaf S comes standard with automatic temperature control, six-way manual adjustable driver's seat, LED taillights, anti-lock braking system with regenerative braking and Bluetooth connectivity. On the 2014 Nissan Leaf SV, the Nissan Navigation System with NavTraffic operating from a seven-inch LCD screen is added standard. Cruise control and a hybrid heater system are also standard on the 2014 Nissan Leaf. The luxury-trimmed version of the 2014 Nissan Leaf, the SL model of the electric hatchback includes leather seating, automatic LED headlights, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and a photovoltaic solar panel spoiler. Propelling the 2014 Nissan Leaf with 107 horsepower and 187 pounds feet of torque, an 80-kilowatt AC synchronous motor is paired with a 24-kilowatt hour lithium-ion battery pack. On a full electrical charge, the 2014 Nissan Leaf can travel up to 84 miles. The 2014 Nissan Leaf can be charged using a 120-volt outlet or 240-volt through an available on-board charging unit. Optional on the 2014 Nissan Leaf S but standard on the SV and SL, charging times as little as four hours is possible with the 240-volt charger. The 2014 Leaf can also be ordered with an available Quick Charge Port that allows rapid charging from a limited selection of public charging stations. New for 2014 Nissan Leafs is the RearView Monitor now found standard on all models.
