2014 Nissan Pathfinder Values
Fresh off last year's revamp, the Nissan Pathfinder is a full-size SUV with seating for seven and a towing capacity of 7,000 lbs. All Pathfinder trim levels are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 hp. The Pathfinder features shift-on-the-fly which allows the driver to transition between 2WD and 4WD. A 2-speed Xtronic CVT transmission enables fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated 20 mpg city to 26 mpg highway. Features include navigation, fold-flat third row seating, dual-zone climate control, hands-free phone system, 9.3 GB hard drive, entertainment system, and rear-view monitor. Safety is comprised of six standard airbags, vehicle dynamic control (VDC), antilock braking (ABS), active brake limited slip, and electronic brake force distribution (EBD). The Pathfinder gains a hybrid powertrain in both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive models.
Good fuel economy; spacious interior; 5000lb towing capacity; third row seating; competitive pricing; available hybrid drivetrain
The Pathfinder remains a very good value for the money. Between its seating capacity and fuel economy the Pathfinder makes a good value play. While previous Pathfinders competed with truck-like SUVs like the Toyota 4Runner, the 2014 Pathfinder aims instead to compete more closely with crossover vehicles such as the Toyota Highlander, bringing more space and refinement to the market at a slight cost to seldom used off-road capabilities. The new-for-2014 hybrid makes 26 combined mpg, impressive fuel economy for any SUV, particularly one that can haul up to 7 passengers.
