The LX version of the 2006 Town and Country was equipped with standard 15-inch steel wheels while the Touring and Limited models featured 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels.

Operating with a front-wheel drivetrain, the Chrysler Town and Country LX received propulsion from a 3.3-liter V-6 engine producing 180 horsepower. The Town and Country Touring and Limited minivans were powered by more athletic 3.8-liter V-6 powerplant generating 205 brake horsepower. With an optional Trailer Tow Preparation Group, the 2006 Town and Country can pull up to 3,800 pounds.

Configured for a maximum passenger capacity of seven, the long wheelbase model of the Town and Country could accommodate as much as 160.7 cubic feet of cargo volume thanks to Stow n Go seating. Standard convenience features on all trim levels of the premium Chrysler minivan included keyless entry, cruise control and power windows. On the higher end Touring and Limited models of the minivan equipment such as power sliding rear doors along with three-zone climate control joins the standard features package.

Rear Seat Video System as well as UConnect hands-free communications existed as optional items available on the 2006 and 2007 versions of the Chrysler Town and Country. With a 2008 redesign of the Town and Country, Chrysler focused on only a single wheelbase.
