Audi Cabriolet Models and Cabriolet History

Based on the Audi 80, the drop-top Audi Cabriolet was introduced to the North American marketplace in 1994. A premium convertible, the 1998 model year Audi Cabriolet featured a four-seat cabin equipped with standard amenities such as air conditioning, heated mirrors, power windows and cruise control. The retractable soft top of the 1998 Audi Cabriolet was available with optional power operation. Offered equipped as a front-wheel drive model with a four-speed automatic transmission, the 1998 Audi Cabriolet was propelled by a 172-horsepower, 2.8-liter V-6 engine. Four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock braking system are found as a standard safety feature on the 1998 Audi Cabriolet. Considered outdated, the Audi Cabriolet was discontinued from the line-up. The Audi TT roadster was added in 2001 as the successor of the Cabriolet.
