Cadillac DeVille DHS Models and DeVille DHS History

Standing for DeVille High Luxury Sedan, the DHS version of the 2000 Cadillac DeVille featured a heavy dose of premium equipment. Replacing the dElegance trim level, the 2000 DHS model of the Cadillac DeVille featured the all-new DeVille exterior styling coupled with a series of enhanced convenience features. Including items such as tri-zone climate control found on the DeVille, the Cadillac DeVille DHS added power rear sunshade, Rainsense windshield wipers and front heated seats as standard equipment. The luxury interior of the sedan is furnished with East African Zebrano wood accents for an enriched premium feel. In 2004, the Cadillac DeVille DHS added standard heated and cooled front seats for addition comfort. A highlight feature during the introduction of the new Cadillac Deville was an industry-first Night Vision system. Through a small heads-up display projection, the optional Cadillac Night Vision system has claimed to allow a driver of the DeVille DHS to see about five times further ahead in darker conditions than possible with low-beam headlights. Despite the high-profile introduction, the Night Vision technology was discontinued during the 2004 model year. The 2000 DeVille DHS was propelled by a 275-horsepower version of the 4.6-liter Northstar V-8 engine. This Cadillac powerplant was paired with a four-speed automatic transmission turning the front-wheel drive system. The DeVille DHS model continued to be offered by Cadillac through the 2005 model year.
